A practical method
A supplier question set
A supplier comparison record with requirements, evidence gaps, delivery questions and approval ownership. Work through the prompts in your own notes. No information is submitted or saved here.
Use and specification
State the use case, quantity assumptions, dimensions or service level, must-haves and permissible substitutions. Identify who approves a change to the brief.
Evidence request
For each requirement, ask what dated document, sample or test could support it and who would inspect that evidence. Do not treat an uploaded file as certified by this page.
Capacity and delivery
Ask about lead time, capacity, dependencies, packaging, handoff and what happens when supply slips. Compare actual answers using the same units.
Commercial and legal questions
List quotation validity, total landed cost, duties, warranty, defects and dispute questions for current qualified review. Do not fill gaps with generic price assumptions.
Approval and record
Record which person may shortlist, contact and commit, and why a candidate remains unverified. Save the final decision in the buyer’s authorized system.
Record the outcome
- What is the proposed next step, and who owns it?
- What evidence supports it, and what remains unknown?
- What would make you pause or change direction?
- When will the decision be reviewed?
